A scary phone call today leaves several courthouses in southeast Nebraska on high alert, they all got bomb threats.

In all, 9 courthouses were evacuated due to those threats, but now authorities believe it was all a prank.

One of those bomb threats was called into the Hall of Justice right here in Lincoln. The call came in around 11:30 a.m. A district court worker took the phone call. She says a man told her the bomb would explode in 17 minutes.

She says she nearly froze after hearing those words.

"My stomach dropped to my toes and I ran into Sue Kirkland's office," Clerk of the District Court Lori Reid said. "My face turned red and I looked at her as stunned as could be and said, 'There's a bomb in the building.'"

Firefighters did a sweep of the building, they didn't find anything and employees were let back in about an hour later.

The other county courthouses receiving threats were Seward, Gage, Otoe, Jefferson, Cass, Richardson, Johnson and Saline.

The Nebraska State Patrol says no credible threats were found at any of the locations. They're asking anyone with any information to contact local law enforcement.

Lancaster County Attorney Joe Kelly says threats like these, even without an actual explosive device, are Class 4 felonies, punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
