Two organizations that mentor children have an event Friday night to raise money.
Hundreds of items will be sold in a silent and live auction. It's to benefit the Boy Scouts of America and the Cornhusker Council here in Nebraska.
This year's goal is to raise $23,000. Jason Anderson, an Assistant Scout Executive, says the money goes to provide the best scouting programs they can offer.
"All the events and activities we do, we try and run them at the lowest possible price so that families are able to participate and enjoy the activities and events and fundraiser's like this help us to have those funding and be able to keep prices low," Anderson said.
The Cornhusker Council serves over 6,000 youth in southeastern Nebraska.
Tonight's event at the Cornhusker Hotel is open to the public. Tickets are 60 dollars at the door. You must be 21 or older to attend.
