Cold weather is making its way to Lincoln and some of you may have already turned up those heaters. Black Hills Energy has a few tips to help you save some money.
The company helped weatherize 3 homes in Lincoln Saturday. The process included caulking window frames, installing weather stripping along doors and checking out furnace filters. The company says it's something just about every home can benefit from.
"We feel that community service is important in all our communities we serve, 106 communities in Nebraska and this is just an opportunity to help others learn about the efficient use of energy," Greg Schinaut with Black Hills Energy said.
Black Hills Energy says the total cost of the upgrades was about $150. The company says it isn't too much money, and you'll notice the savings on your next bill.
