Outgoing Speaker of the Legislature Mike Flood appears to be announcing his candidacy for Nebraska governor.
Flood is planning to make a special announcement Monday night at a convention center in Norfolk. He's been touring Nebraska since June saying the state needs to invest in schools, infrastructure and farmers.
Term limits are forcing the Republican to leave his current office. Lieutenant Governor Rick Sheehy has also shown interest in running. Current governor Dave Heineman can't run again because of term limits.
