After today's big win, we're catching up with some very proud fans. Some are now ready for Indianapolis. People are getting their tickets and making their arrangements. You better get on it so you can get a good deal.
It was a fabulous victory for the Huskers and a great win for Husker fans! Now it's on to Indianapolis for the Big 10 championship game against the Wisconsin Badgers. Fans like Julie Nelson are excited.
"We've been waiting a long time. It's been like, 5 years. It's about time, this group of seniors really deserves a big win," said Nelson.
If you're interested in heading east for the big game, you've got some options. A check of Stub Hub shows there are more than 3,200 tickets available on that site alone. The prices range from the cheap, to the not so cheap. As for booking a flight and a hotel, some agencies are offering package deals. At Executive Travel, if two people are going, $1,200 a piece will cover your airfare, game tickets, and two nights at a hotel. If you prefer to take the long drive, you can get tickets and your hotel for about $700. You can also try booking online. Marilyn Muir with AAA says you should be aware of your information, if you go that route.
"Just be very careful if you're doing it on the internet. Make sure you know who you're booking for and you know all of your cancellation policies, that's the biggest thing," said Muir.
While thousands are expected to make it out to Indianapolis for the Big 10 championship game next week, others are thinking a little farther into the future.
"Oh yes, we've had people inquire about the Rose Bowl. They have their name on a waiting list," said Muir.
The Big 10 championship game takes place on December 1st. If the Huskers win, it's off to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl.
