Police say sexual assault victim helped by witness

A Lincoln man was arrested for sexually assaulting a woman in an east Lincoln apartment.

Lincoln police say the victim told officers the witness saved her life. 50-year-old Seco Muhic has been arrested.

It happened Wednesday at around 10:30 a.m. Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood says a witness saw a woman being dragged into an apartment near 84th and O streets. Officer Flood says the witness went to check on her and saw a man sexually assaulting her.

The witness called police. Flood says Muhic was arrested for first degree sexual assault and strangulation.
