Ron Epp picks up what's left of his mailbox after he and 9 of his neighbors are targeted by a vandal! Police say around 3:30 Wednesday morning, a man drove an SUV down the 1800 block of Shooting Star Drive, knocking down close to a dozen mailboxes in its path.

"It could've caused a lot of damage. A lot. Who would do something like that? What goes through their mind? I have no idea," said Epp.

Witnesses say the suspect then turned the SUV around at the end of the block and got out just before it hit a tree. Police say a landscaping rock was used to push the pedal down. It turns out the car, a Ford Explorer, was stolen from a nearby garage. The thief managed to get away, but police say he may have done even more.

"As officers were in the area, we also discovered 7 windows to vehicles were damaged. We believe that all the incidents are related," said Officer Katie Flood.

Damage to the Explorer and mailboxes is estimated at more than $7,000. Epp, who's left to buy a replacement for his mailbox, has his own idea for punishment.

"If I had my say, I would take them out to a field and have them dig about 400 holes, and then fill them up," said Epp.

At this time, police only have a vague description of the suspect. He's described as being 5'8" tall with a thin build. They hope anyone with information will come forward.
