The latest recipient of Union Bank's Magic Moments has had a rough few weeks. Her family's belongings were destroyed in a fire, which is why Union Bank wanted to make her holiday a little brighter.
LaTanya Cathey thought she was having a performance review at work, but what she got was a magic moment.
Cathey works at Loving Hearts Daycare. She's a grandmother and mother of four and has two kids still living at home.
The family's apartment recently went up in flames after an accidental fire cost them most of their belongings. Christmas seemed unimaginable, until this moment.
"It was like a wish come true," said Cathey.
She cares for Jessica Carlson's daughter. Carlson says that even though the family has lost everything, they have managed to stay positive. Carlson nominated Cathey.
"Everyday when I came here and I saw her and I had heard what happened," said Carlson. "It just amazed me that there was still a smile on her face."
Union Bank granted Cathey's wish, giving the family pillows, towels, gift cards, a TV, and a Blu-Ray player. Cathey even got a gift certificate for a massage.
Josh and Jada received an X-Box 360 with two games. And will get new beds that have not been delivered yet.
The family is now back in their apartment. They said they are rebuilding their life everyday.
"To me, this situation has pretty much taught us a lesson and made us stronger," said Cathey. "I didn't have the Christmas spirit at first, but now? There is a Santa. There is a Santa."
