Lincoln police arrested the driver of a car after he crashed into a building early Tuesday.
It happened near Cornhusker Highway and North Antelope Valley Parkway just before 4 a.m.. The building is an auto detailing shop.
Police say when they arrived they found the Nissan Pathfinder against the building and the rear tires spinning. Police say 28-year-old Matthew Birch was behind the wheel passed out. The tires were heavily damaged.
Police say they tried to place Birch under arrest, but he became combative. He was taken into custody for resisting arrest and failure to comply.
The car caused minor damage to the exterior of the building. Investigators said most likely the driver was coming down the ramp from North Antelope Valley Parkway onto Cornhusker Highway when he lost control, ran up onto the curb and hit the building. Police expect more charges once the investigation is complete.
