Santa's toy shop may have been cranking out gifts for months now, but because of busy schedules and procrastination, many people waited until the very last day to buy their holiday gifts.

For mom Brandi Slossen, finding a time to shop alone is easier said than done.

"We kind of just waited until the last second for things we needed to not have the kids for," Slosson said.  "Been to seven stores so far and still on the prowl for a couple more."

She wasn't the only one.

"I'm a procrastinator," Larisa Brockman, said. "I always wait until the last minute."

Thousands of Lincolnites hit the stores for those last minute gifts.  Televisions, video games and Legos seemed to be among the most popular Christmas Eve buys.

Target employees say they saw their second-best sales of the year this past weekend.

"We got really busy," Target employee, Lisa Collins, said. "Especially this last weekend, it exceeded our expectations."

According to the National Retail Federation, 10-percent of shoppers waited until Christmas Eve to buy that final present.  That's almost 17-million people.

"Maybe some more last minute shoppers this year, but it's been really good," Collins said.

But with most people we talked to, the sentiment was the same.  They're confident the always prepared, Santa Claus, will come through in the end.

"I think he's going to have a good year this year," Slosson chuckled.
