There are less than three days to go until we reach the Fiscal Cliff, which will cause tax hikes and budget cuts. This is set to kick in on January 1.
Democrats and Republicans are bargaining in Washington, trying to agree on a last minute deal to prevent this from happening.
It seems unlikely a budget bill can be written in time, so they are considering a fallback plan.
Senate leaders hope to have a bill to vote on by Sunday. The House is back in session that afternoon and could vote then on the Senate version of the bill.
