OMAHA, Neb. (AP) The Omaha Police Department made 84 drunken driving arrests and issued more than 500 citations during its participation in a national law enforcement campaign to combat drunken driving.
The Omaha department says it issued 529 citations during the "You drink, you drive, you lose'' campaign from Dec. 14 through Jan. 1.
That included 154 speeding tickets and 13 charges of minors being in possession of alcohol.
Omaha police worked extra hours during the campaign, thanks to a $25,000 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
