Concerts@First presents the chamber music of Philadelphia composer and pianist Michael Djupstrom on Saturday, January 26 at The First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) January 22, 2013

On Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. Concerts@First presents “Up and Coming”, a program of chamber works by Philadelphia composer and pianist Michael Djupstrom (b.1980). The program includes Djupstrom’s Walimai, which was recently awarded both the American Viola Society's Gardner Award and the first Delius International Composition Prize. As a result, Djupstrom and violist Ayane Kozasa traveled to London to present the work as part of the International Delius Study Weekend.

The performing musicians—students and recent graduates of the Curtis Institute of Music—include laureates of several international string competitions: Nigel Armstrong, violin, Luosha Fang, violin, Ayane Kozasa, viola, Jeong Hyoun Lee, cello, and Michael Djupstrom, piano.

This concert is part of the 2012-2013 series of Concerts@First, held at The First Presbyterian Church, 201 South 21st Street, Philadelphia. The concert is free and open to the public.
