Boston, MA (PRWEB) January 22, 2013
Boston cosmetic dentist, Dr. Steven D. Spitz, founder of Smileboston Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry, has been awarded the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity Certificate of Merit award at the 2012 Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity annual convention in Scottsdale, AZ. Having been elected as an International Director at Large/US Region on AO's International Board as well as, Chair of Student Affairs Committee and Chair Awards Committee, this honor was given based on outstanding and exemplary service for over 10 years at an international and chapter level of Alpha Omega.
“Having been involved in Alpha Omega professionally and personally for over 20 years, I am honored to have been chosen to receive the prestigious Alpha Omega Certificate of Merit, said Dr. Spitz. “AO is truly part of my life and I look forward to growing with this organization for a long time to come.”
The Certificate of Merit needs not be awarded every year similar to a standard achievement, but only when one candidate shows special service to the international fraternity or at the chapter level. As an authority in the advanced use of laser, dental implants and all aspects of dental care, Dr. Spitz has been recognized as an esteemed and influential professional who is technologically skilled and philanthropically driven.
Steven D. Spitz, DMD is a prosthodontist and implant dentist. His post-doctoral studies include a two-year, full-time program at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine/Boston VA Medical Center, and a General Practice Residency through Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida. He is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, and currently teaches at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and is on staff at Franciscan Children’s Hospital in Brighton, Massachusetts.
As the founder of the Smileboston Dental Implant Continuum, Dr. Spitz teaches specialty surgical implant placements to dentists throughout the country using the innovative (BAC system) categorizing the surgical and restorative phases of implant dentistry into basic, advanced and complex cases, with and without the use of the dental laser. Dr. Spitz and Smileboston were chosen as Boston’s Best Cosmetic Dentist in 2003 by Improper Bostonian Magazine, and were mentioned as, “one of the most reputable places in Boston for cosmetic procedures,” by Boston Magazine.
