49–year–old Charles blowers was arrested in Denver, Colorado last week.

Nearly two years after 26-year old Latrice Shaner's sudden death, Lincoln police have located the man they say is responsible. They tell us this tragedy unfolded at an apartment complex near 25th and Vine on May 26, 2011.

"Charles blowers awoke to find his 26-year old female friend, Latrice Shaner unresponsive," said Officer Katie Flood.

Police and fire officials were called to help, but it was too late. She was pronounced dead at the scene. They say an investigation quickly revealed that Blowers had provided her with meth a short time before, and she had overdosed.

"An autopsy later attributed her death to methamphetamine toxicity," said Flood.

According to her obituary, Shaner was studying to become a medical student. She was married and had three young boys. Her loved ones described her as sweet and cute, a person who could make anyone laugh. An arrest warrant was issued for Blowers just last month. For Lincoln police, it's an important step to prevent further tragedies from happening.

"It should be known that LPD will vigorously investigate overdose deaths. Individuals who provide drugs, whether it's street drugs or prescription, that contribute to a death may be charged," said Flood.

Blowers is facing a manslaughter charge, plus an additional drug charge. Police say he will be extradited back to Lincoln.
