Police say he tossed a gun out of the hotel window.
It happened Sunday morning. Lincoln police went to a northeast Lincoln hotel to serve an arrest warrant on 31-year-old Jeremy Hayes. A woman and child were also in the hotel room.
Hayes was wanted on a warrant. Police say when Hayes saw officers outside of the room, he opened a window and pushed out the screen.
"Instead of jumping from the window, Jeremy Hayes through out a stocking cap which we found was concealing a 9 millimeter semi–automatic handgun," Sgt. Jeri Roeder said.
Hayes was arrested for multiple charges: Felon in possession of a firearm, two prior domestic assaults and a warrant for possessing marijuana.
