An overnight assault leaves a man in critical condition

An assault in Lincoln sends a man to the hospital in critical condition.

It happened just before 2:30 this morning.  Lincoln Police say a man was crossing the street at 10th St. and "N" when a car stopped and a man got out and punched him.  The victim fell backwards, hitting his head.

Police say he was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.  They are not releasing any information about the victim.

Police say they're looking for a 1997 or newer black four door Honda Accord.  There were two black males, one about 6' 1'' and 190 pounds, possibly wearing a blue long sleeved shirt, and two white females, in the car.
