Lincoln police say the woman was confronted by a man walking home Tuesday night.
It happened at around 11 p.m. Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood says the 25-year-old victim was walking home near 16th and H Streets. Flood says an unknown man asked her if she was a certain person. When the woman said "no", he asked if she had any money. Police say the woman said "no" again, and that's when the man assaulted her.
"He responded by punching her 3 times in the face. She did sustain a small cut to her right eye. He then grabbed her computer bag and took off running," Officer Flood said.
The computer bag contained an HP Notebook laptop, an iPad, and her wallet. The suspect is described as a black male, 5'10", average build. The victim said she could smell alcohol on his breath.
