Firefighters battle blaze at Lincoln Landfill

Lincoln Fire and Rescue and other units responded to the early morning fire Monday.

It started at around 6 a.m.  The fire was located on the northeast side of the Lincoln Landfill near N.56th and Bluff Road.  Firefighters stayed on the scene for several hours.

No word on what caused the fire.

    Crews have begun work to repave and make other improvements on southbound 14th st., heading from Hwy 2 to Warlick Boulevard, and that means the southbound lanes is closed off to thru traffic; which can be a headache for local businesses in the area.
