Expect to see more Nebraska State Troopers on the road beginning Thursday.  Troopers are putting in extra hours to manage the rush of traffic due to the boys' state basketball tournaments kicking off in Lincoln.

Troopers and communication specialists with the Nebraska State patrol will be spending extra time on the clock beginning Thursday and lasting through Saturday.  Officials said it's a special effort to get fans to the game without serious injury or worse.

The overtime is being paid for by a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.  In a statement, Colonel David Sankey of the Nebraska State Patrol said "By increasing enforcement and raising awareness, we hope to increase voluntary compliance of all traffic safety laws."

Troopers want to remind motorists to drive the speed limit, buckle up, and of course, never drive while impaired or distracted.
