OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ A nanny accused of causing the death of a 4-month-old Omaha boy in her care has made her first appearance in court.
A Douglas County Court judge set bail for 24-year-old Sarah Cullen at $50,000. She must put up 10 percent of that, or $5,000, to be released from jail.
Cullen was arrested Thursday night on a warrant charging her with child abuse resulting in the death of Cash Bell. Authorities say the baby suffered a massive head injury. Chief Deputy Marty Bilek says Cullen took the boy to a hospital on Feb. 28. He died at Children's Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha on Tuesday. Cullen remained in the Douglas County Jail on Friday. Her next hearing is set for April 7.
