Gov. Dave Heineman reiterated Monday, he's in no hurry to jump into the U.S. Senate race.

The Governor spoke about the issue this morning as he was honoring Nebraska's Air National Guard.

Sen. Mike Johanns announced last month, he will not seek re-election in 2014.

The Governor says there are a variety of factors he's still weighing.

"It's a significant change in terms of lifestyle," Gov. Heineman said. "To go from being the governor, where virtually everyday you can do something to move the state forward, to a pace in a legislative sense that moves at a much slower rate on the national level."

Gov. Heineman says any decision is likely a month away.  No other republican has officially announced a run for the seat.
