Zachary Neuberger pleaded no contest to manslaughter and felon in possession of a firearm.
Police say on July 29, Neuberger and several others were sitting on the front porch of a home near 13th and Sumner. They say Naif Al–Kazahy, his brother, and a friend were walking by when some words were exchanged between the groups. The argument became physical.
A gun was shown, and Al–Kazahy was shot in the chest and killed. Police say Neuberger and the others were found at a home in Bennet. All were interviewed, and Neuberger was placed under arrest.
Neuberger will be sentenced April 15. He faces up to 20 years in prison for manslaughter and up to 50 years for the weapon charge.
