LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A Nobel Prize winner in physics will give a public science lecture at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Eric Cornell, a professor of physics at the University of Colorado Boulder, will speak Tuesday evening in the Bruner Hall of Science located on the Kearney campus. He won the Nobel Prize in 2001 for is research on Bose-Einstein condensate, which is a state of matter created from the atoms of a gas that are cooled to near absolute zero. He will explain how the process works.

Satyrendra Nath Bose and Albert Einstein laid the groundwork for Cornell's research when they discovered the macroscopic quantum phenomena in the 1920s.
