Police have arrested a man they believe stole a package of candy and a 30-pack case of beer from the Kwik Shop on 33rd and Holdrege early Sunday morning.

Lincoln Police Capt. David Beggs says around 4:15 a.m., Cason Chavarria walked into the store, asked for a package of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and grabbed a case of beer, then tried to walk out the door but was blocked by the store clerk.

Police say Chavarria then punched the clerk twice and left.

Chavarria was arrested by Lincoln Police at 7:15 Sunday morning at 21st and K streets after they recognized him from Kwik Shop security footage.

Capt. Beggs says Chavarria was also contacted by police before the Kwik shop incident for another disturbance.
