Friendship Home says Lincoln "Stuffed the Bus"

The event held last weekend benefits the Friendship Home of Lincoln.

Stuff the Bus brought in $35,000 in cash and items.  Lincoln StarTran buses were parked in front of Walmarts and Sams Clubs around the city.

Customers donated items needed at the Friendship Home, which helps women and children escape domestic violence.

"When you have shelters that aren't publicly seen or know, it gives us a chance to interact with the community so that they know what's going on at the friendship home since they can't come there and tour," Sherry Ehrlich, a volunteer, said.

You can still donate!  Just call Friendship Home's development office at 402-434-0167. Please call the anonymous shelter line at 402-437-9302 if you are in need of help. A trained advocate is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
