Nebraska's Centennial Mall hasn't been accessible in years, but a big boost to the renovation campaign will change that, and soon.

A four year fundraising effort got a big push with a two million dollar donation from Glenn Korff, a fourth generation Nebraskan and businessman.

"I consider the gift an investment. it's really an investment in the future," he says.

Korff's gift will allow final construction on the seven block mall that will connect the state capitol with the University of Nebraska.

"This project sells itself, this did not take me long to get this through my mind to do," says Korff.

In addition to having wifi and broadband systems, the new mall is set to have technology that allows visitors to access information through their cell phones and tablets.

"It will be adaptable for the technologies of the future. This thing is going to be in place and up to date for years to come. It'll be a model for the country. It'll be one all Nebraskans can be proud of for years to come, for generations to come," says Korff.

Another special feature in the renovation is the Spirit of Nebraska Pathway.

It's a series of granite and bronze tiles that will recognize individuals, groups and businesses to make a 'mosaic of Nebraskans'.

Final construction will begin this summer and is expected to be done by spring 2015.
