A Nebraska Navy officer arrives home early to surprise his son at school.
First Class Petty Officer Derick Peters spent the past 6 months in Kuwait. He was supposed to be there until June, but plans changed.
So on Friday, he decided to give his 6-year-old son, Tyson his first hug back home at his school in Waverly.
"I had a tough time holding back the tears in there but it was amazing to get to see the excitement on his face and get that huge hug from him," Peters said.
There is more good news for the family - that was Peters last deployment with the Navy.
