Pastor Schweiger at Saint Patrick's Church on Morrill Avenue has been wearing two hats lately and one of them is a hard hat.
The church was built in 1908 and is in desperate need of a renovation, so the congregation decided to build new pews themselves.
They cut the wood on Sunday donated by a farmer outside of Palmyra and another from Syracuse.
The church is 750 families strong and everyone is helping out, even Pastor Schweiger's mother!
The new church is going to cost almost $5 million, and $3 million have already been raised.
