Some local heroes were recognized Thursday night in Lincoln.

They came together for the annual Red Cross "Tribute to Heroes" banquet. Those honored ranged from a boy who save his little brothers lives after a fire broke out in their home, to a nurse who rescued her neighbor after she drove up on a serious accident.

"I'm glad that she's doing so well because, you know, when I stopped that day I really didn't know and you hope for the best and it's really neat to see what you hoped for came true. So that's really neat," Nurse and award recipient Elizabeth Nesvorhartig said.

The event was held at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel. Hundreds of people showed up to recognize all the local heroes.
