Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer says he plans to discuss a police investigation that is exploring links between the slayings of a Creighton University professor and his wife last week and the 2008 slayings of an 11-year boy and his family housekeeper.

The bodies of Dr. Roger Brumback and his wife, Mary Brumback, were discovered in their west-central Omaha home Tuesday. Police say Roger Brumback was a colleague of the 11-year-old's father and mother at Creighton's medical school, Dr. William and Dr. Claire Hunter, police say.

The Hunters' son, Thomas Hunter, and their housekeeper, 57-year-old Shirlee Sherman, were stabbed to death on March 13, 2008.

Schmaderer has scheduled a 1 p.m. Monday news conference at police headquarters in Omaha. He says he'll make his first public comments regarding the investigation.
