Jenn Schanz

Jenn grew up in Ann Arbor and Traverse City, Michigan where she and her siblings would put on talent shows.  She says that her family is her rock, her center and her biggest support system.

Jenn attended DePaul University in Chicago and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism.  While in school, she interned at WMAQ, the NBC affiliate in Chicago, and the Chicago Tribune.  She also reported and anchored for the campus news program "Good Day DePaul", where she covered the May 2012 NATO Summit.  In addition, she interned at the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Jenn came to Channel 8 Eyewitness News in 2013.  "I think diligent journalism is the most organic form of public service.  Telling the truth and making people want to hear it, is a dream job", Jenn says.  She loves interacting with people when on assignments and especially getting to know people from different walks of life and she adds, "I think we're all more alike then we are different".  She's very Zen like.

Jenn loves to travel and wants to see all seven continents by the time she's 30 years old.  She enjoys yoga, cooking, watching movies and reading.
