Police find handgun on shoplifting suspect

Police were called to the Walmart at 4700 N. 27th street just before 5 p.m. on Friday on reports of shoplifting.

Once police arrived, the suspect had gone nearby to a Gordmans store.

The suspect, Michael Neemeyer, a 28-year-old transient man, fought arrest while being taken into custody.

During the arrest, police say they found a handgun in the suspect's pants. Neemeyer, a felon, is being charged with felony possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and resisting arrest.
