An alert neighbor has landed two burglary suspects in jail.
Lincoln police say Christopher Schafer and Charles Hellbusch broke into Kendles Auto Salvage near 1st and Garfield. It happened just before 4 a.m. Police say the witness saw two men park their pick up and walk toward the business. When officers arrived, police say they heard people running through trees nearby. Police say the K-9 unit found both men hiding in some tall grass.
Schafer and Hellbusch were arrested for trespassing, possession of burglar tools, failure to comply and possession of a controlled substance (meth).
