A woman is recovering after being hit by a car while riding her moped. The woman has non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
The car that hit her had its front smashed in, but surprisingly, the moped wasn't destroyed. It happened around midnight near North 27th and Fairfield streets. Sgt. Randy Clark said both the car and moped were headed southbound at the time of the accident. "Driver behind her… didn't see her for unknown reasons and rear ended the moped causing the driver to be ejected from the moped," Clark said.
Police said the woman driving the moped was taken to the hospital by ambulance. She was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The driver of the car wasn't hurt.
