What's usually a quiet and fun park for families and neighborhood kids during the day has turned into a recent and frequent crime scene at night.
Lincoln police are investigating the third robbery in the last 15 days at Peter Pan Park on North 33rd Street.
"It's really shocking because I actually walk through this neighborhood a lot and knowing I bring my son here kind of makes me on edge a little bit," Laura Smith said.
Officers say around 3:30 Tuesday morning, four teens were approached by three men, who had their faces covered and all armed with handguns.
Police say the suspects demanded their belongings, but ran off empty handed.
Police are investigating two other similar incidents that happened earlier this month.
"The two that occurred earlier were narcotics related, we don't have evidence on this case and it has not yet been determined if any of the three are related to one another," Officer Katie Flood said.
Residents who live nearby say they've noticed a higher amount of crime lately.
Laura Smith walks through the park and brings her son here on a normal basis.
She says it's usually a safe neighborhood, but people are using the park after hours for the wrong reasons.
"Making drug deals are bad but like take it somewhere else where it's not like a community place where people come and people are afraid to bring their kids," Smith said.
