Capitol Parkway will be under construction, which means headaches for some businesses and attractions.
Elaine Lehl works at the sunken gardens near 27th Street. She says this isn't the first time construction cluttered Lincoln's roads.
"I'm so used to your torn up roads that you just get used to it, you just find a different way," she said.
But for some people, the Capitol Parkway is the easiest route across the city.
"When I'm traveling across town you know it's a good way to from the west side to the east side, you the north and south cut that it takes is pretty convenient to get around," Walt Bleich said.
A convenience that will soon be shut down.
21st to 33rd Streets will experience lane closures and temporary detours.
Access to side streets and driveways will be limited as well.
"Well it's going to create a lot of traffic you know on some of those side streets and stuff and that'll probably be something that'll upset some people to have a lot of traffic on the street they don't normally have it on," Bleich said.
Some people say finding a new route might avoid frustration.
"It isn't like it's one way in and one way out, there's a lot of openings," Lehl said.
