The Seward County Court says Mayor Dean Bruha was arrested Wednesday and appeared in court Thursday.

The 56-year-old mayor of Milford was released on bond.  The Seward County Attorney has charged Bruha with one count of Identity Theft, one count of Theft by Unlawful Taking, and seven counts of 2nd degree Forgery.  The charges are all felonies.

The Nebraska State says investigators arrested Bruha without incident on Wednesday.
The say his arrest followed an eight-month long investigation into allegations he forged financial documents involving an account managed by Bruha for a family member.  The patrol says the activity included forging the family member's signature, writing checks and opening unauthorized credit card accounts.  This resulted in the loss of more than $60,000.
