Beatrice, Neb.  - Authorities arrested a St. Joseph, Missouri manFriday wanted on a federal warrant for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in Missouri.  32-year-old Michael Robinson was arrested by the Metro Fugitive Task Force.

The U.S. Marshal's Office in Nebraska says Robinson is a suspect in a case out of the Kansas City area in which significant amounts of methamphetamine were allegedly distributed.  He is also accused of making threats and using firearms to further his criminal goals.

The MFTF was contacted by DEA agents last week with a tip that Robinson was possibly in the Beatrice area.  Task force members investigated the lead and determined that Robinson was at an address in Beatrice Friday night.

At 7 p.m. Friday, members of the MFTF, with assistance of the Gage County SWAT team and the DEA, arrested Robinson without incident. One other person, Kristie Lafave, 35, was arrested on a probation warrant out of Missouri.  Robinson is confined at the Saline County Jail awaiting removal proceedings to the western District of Missouri.

"This case is a good example of the effectiveness of the Marshals-led task force," said U.S. Marshal for the District of Nebraska Mark Martinez.  "He fled to Nebraska from another state, but he could not escape the federal, state and local law enforcement officers working relentlessly to pursue and arrest him."

The Metro Fugitive Task Force- Lincoln is made up of law enforcement personnel from the U.S. Marshals, Lancaster County, Lincoln PD, Saline County, Saunders County and Gage County.
