GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (AP) _ A 29-year-old man has died and another man was arrested after a crash south of Grand Island. The Hall County Sheriff's Office says Jerry Ramirez was killed in the accident.
The sheriff says the crash happened about 2 p.m. Monday on Highway 281 when 30-year-old Hermino Alamilla lost control of his car. The car entered the median, then rolled several times before coming to rest. Jerry Ramirez was ejected from the car, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger in the car, 23-year-old Jose Coronado, wasn't injured.
After coming to a stop, the car was also hit by a pickup driven by 26-year-old Megan Brodrick, of Grand Island. She wasn't hurt. Brodrick was the only one in the pickup.
Hermino Alamilla was taken to a hospital for non-life threatening injures. He was charged with driving under the influence and felony motor vehicle homicide.
