A string of car accidents across Lincoln Sunday had roads blocked off and neighbors crowding around for answers.
One of them was a crash just south of 33rd and Sheridan.
"Just kind of came out to see if everyone was okay, saw a person lying on the ground," neighbor Darren Johnson said.
Police said an SUV was driving on 33rd when the driver suffered a medical episode, causing her to crash into a mailbox, a utility pole and a brick wall before colliding with the biker.
"The scuffs and the debris scattered in that driveway," Cpt. Davidsaver of LPD said. "You can see as the vehicle was northbound it rolled and then came to rest."
Neighbors said they couldn't believe the biker was able to function after the crash.
Police said both he and the driver were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
"He got really lucky, got knocked off his bike, landed in the grass," Johnson said. "He was up and moving by the time responders got there."
Earlier Sunday, crews responded to another accident at the intersection of N. Cotner and Vine just after 2 p.m., involving three cars.
Police said a red car heading west on Vine collided with two pickups, causing one of the pickups to roll on its side.
The driver of that pickup was taken to the hospital, but police said there were no major injuries.
"Investigation at this point leads us to believe that the driver of the red vehicle was acting in a negligent manner, so we'll probably be issuing a citation," Sgt. Don Scheinost of LPD said.
Police are still gathering information from the driver of the bike crash. No one has been ticketed yet for the three-car accident.
