Apple fans have a lot to be excited about!  CEO Tim Cook announced the two new designs Tuesday afternoon.

The first is the iPhone 5C.  It's a cheaper, plastic version of the current iPhone 5.

"It gives great performance and great battery life," Apple's Phil Schiller said.  "In fact, the battery inside the iPhone 5C is slightly larger than the battery was in the iPhone 5 before."

It comes in five different colors and features what Apple calls blazing–fast performance and a cheaper price starting at only $99 with a 2–year contract.

The other is the 5S.  It also has three different metal finishes.  It's priced starting at $199 and features a new home button with a highly anticipated fingerprint sensor to keep your phone secure.

"The 5S is the most forward thinking phone we've ever created," Schiller added.  "In fact, perhaps the most forward thinking phone anyone has ever made."

The 5S features a bigger and better camera with an improved flash, and a burst photo mode that can take up to 20 pictures in two seconds.

Both the new phones will run on iOS 7 software which brings an entirely new look to your phone.  It features new icons and animations on your home and lock screens and a new command center for easy access to your phone's settings.

"iOS 7 is so alive with depth and not through artificial shadows or borders but the way the device responds to the motion of your hand with a parallax effect," Apple's Craig Federigh said.

The software will be available for free via downloads on the iPhone 4, 4S and 5 on September 18th.

Pre–order for the new iPhones starts on Friday, otherwise they'll be on sale in stores on September 20th.
