Businesses in Nebraska and neighboring states were honored Thursday at the prestigious Better Business Bureau Integrity Awards.

The ceremony was held at the Embassy Suites in Lincoln, and emceed by Channel 8 Eyewitness News' Vanessa Brown.

Several companies were honored for their ethical business practices, and for going above and beyond in serving their customers.

The event also provides an opportunity for businesses and BBB representatives to meet.

"It gives me a chance to interact with our companies, our members and to thank them for the business practices that they put in place and for truly living everyday integrity in their business practices," Teresa Fritz of the Lincoln Better Business Bureau said.

Mayor Beutler and Lt. Gov. Heidemann were also on hand to support the honorees.
