The brothers of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity at UNL have raised nearly $4,000 for Team Jack by selling t–shirts to members of the Greek community.
The shirts advertised the Team Jack Foundation logo and were worn to Saturday's game. They were personalized with each fraternity's or sorority's Greek letters.
"It's shows their support from each individual house, which is pretty cool," philanthropy chair Brett Becker said.
Becker said 20 fraternities and sororities across campus participated in their philanthropy. He said about 600 t–shirts were sold totaling nearly $4,000.
The sisters of Alpha Xi Delta next door said they were proud to sport their t–shirts at the game.
"It's such an endearing story, and it's very close to the hearts of everyone here at Husker Nation," Jessica Gibbs said. "It's just great to be a part of it."
As part of the philanthropy, the brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha also handed out flyers advertising a benefit auction for Team Jack that will be held later this month. Like the sales from the t–shirts, proceeds from the auction will also support pediatric brain cancer research.
"We can do it together, raise money for him and his family," Adam Hess said. "Because after everything he's gone through, I'm pretty sure that everyone agrees that anything helps for his family."
The benefit auction will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26, in Atkinson.
