Police are looking for a man who robbed famous Lincoln car salesman 'Weird Wally.'
If you've been in the capital city for a while, you've heard of this guy. He's known for his out-of-the-ordinary advertising schemes for his local business, Wally's Used Cars Inc., which has been around since the 70's.
The dealership is located at 2323 P Street.
"It's been 38 years in the car business and I've never been violated like this before," Wally said.
Wally says he's still recovering from the robbery that happened Friday.
"If I had to count it in seconds it was all over in three seconds and he was heading up that drive and I was chasing him as well as an old man could run, hollering," Wally said.
Around 3:30 in the afternoon, Wally says he was showing a man a Cadillac on his lot when the man shoved him inside the car.
"My feet are still out here on the concrete, well he just reached back here and just ripped my wallet out of my pocket," Wally said.
Then, the man was picked up in a maroon car near 24th and P streets.
There were several hundred dollars in the wallet, money Wally says he carries on him to buy cars. But not anymore.
"Now we're just going to pay by check so, it was a learning experience for me and I'm just happy that I'm not laying in a hospital somewhere or even worse," Wally said.
The veteran salesman walked away with a cut arm.
Lincoln Police still don't have any suspects, but say they're looking for a fit black male in his late twenties to early thirties.
Wally estimates he's around six feet tall, and last seen wearing gray sweat pants.
