Friends would describe Reece Benesch as a vivacious person who was full of life.
"I don't even think I can remember ever seeing him upset, he'd always just come in through the door just like with a big grin on his face," Stacy Grivning said.
Now Reece's friends and family are in mourning.
The Lincoln High School graduate was found dead Monday morning on the porch of his house near 16th and Sumner. Police say it was completely accidental, but won't release any more details.
Reece was just a month away from his 22nd birthday.
When he didn't show up for work Monday morning, Gravning, Reece's boss, said she had feeling something was wrong.
"It still doesn't quite feel real, it was such a sudden thing. I didn't want to tell anyone over the phone, so we were all kind of sitting around just trying to take it all in," she said.
Friends also say Reece was a bicycle enthusiast and loved to live in the moment. Gravning said it's a way of life many people should learn from.
"I'd always go downtown expecting to see Reece flying by on some kind of wheeled vehicle. Took each day as it came and just kind of lived in the moment," she said.
Police are still investigating how Reece might have died. An autopsy was scheduled for today.
