Benefit for Fire Victims

Posted: Updated:

The MAD DADs organization is a big advocate for children.

But now, they want to help a whole family, one of their own, after a fire took their home.

"Just empty when you go there.  You realize everything can just be gone in that little bit of time," says fire victim, Ken Borene, who is a MAD DADs volunteer.

His family lost everything.

In hard times, Borene knows he can turn to the friends he's made at MAD DADs.

Borene says, "it's like a family here."

The organizations he's devoted so much time to, wants to return the kindness.

The Borene family benefit will be on Saturday October 19th.

From 11am to 4pm at 5610 Seward Street, at the MAD DADs building.

"You just can not explain how you lose everything in an instant and all the things that you've worked for, all the things you've saved and then you come home and there's nothing there," says Rev. Don Coleman, MAD DADs president.  "I knew immediately that we had to do something as our family to help him."
