Mother in court for kidnappers first appearance

The man connected to last weeks Lincoln kidnapping, now faces two felonies.

20–year–old Nathaniel Gonzalez is charged with false imprisonment and theft by unlawful taking.

Police say, on September 27th, Gonzalez took his one–year–old cousin from a south Lincoln 

apartment and fled in a stolen car.

An Amber Alert was then issued.

After a tip, the two were located at the Target store near 48th and O Street, where Gonzalez was 

taken into custody.

The mother, who was in the court room Monday, says it was a scary two hours.

"Just thinking the worst because I didn't know what his intentions were, if he was going to harm 

my son, if I would ever see him again, it was it was it was very very bad," says Jennifer Moreira. 

"I don't wish this on anybody."

Gonzalez's bond is set at $100,000.

His next court appearance is October 25th.
