SEWARD - Concordia University is up two spots to No. 15 in this week's NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll. Saturday's homecoming game in Seward, Neb., will feature the 15th-ranked Bulldogs (5-0) versus No. 22 Nebraska Wesleyan (3-2).
The Bulldogs are 5-0 thanks to a defense that now ranks No. 1 in the NAIA in fewest yards allowed (238.2 ypg) and scoring (10.0 ppg). Led by defensive coordinator Patrick Daberkow, Concordia has recorded back-to-back shutouts in wins at Dakota Wesleyan and at Dordt. The Bulldogs have active streaks of nine-straight quarters without allowing a point and 23 quarters without allowing a rushing touchdown (225-straight opponent rush attempts). They are the only NAIA team that has yet to surrender a rushing touchdown this season.
