Man arrested after using dog to attack 9-year-old boy

A man is behind bars after allegedly using a dog to attack a 9-year-old boy during a domestic dispute.

Police were called around 8:45 Saturday night to the 200 block of F Street. They said 41-year-old Cedric Fowler got in an argument with his girlfriend and pushed her down 12 stairs. The victim's 9-year-old son tried to jump on Fowler, and police say that's when Fowler allegedly told the dog to attack the boy.

The mother suffers minor injuries, and the boy has a puncture wound to the hand.

Fowler faces charges of domestic assault, child abuse, second degree assault, and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

The dog is in custody with animal control.
